I don't know about that. As I recall the higher a moviestock's price the more it will be shifted by a trade <inside>

while the same size transaction on a lower priced MS will cause less of a price change. Also the greater the volume of total shares traded in a given time period, the less the price will change because of any individual trade. (AKA "Applying the brakes".) Its been some years since anyone posted results of investigations and experiments and things may have been changed or adjusted in the meantime above and beyond the fallibility of human memory. And it is possible that there is a random variation built into the code. *shrug* The details of how price changes are calculated are secret for a (at least one) reason.

My suggestion is don't stress or worry about it. Just trade according to how you think the price will change.

Last hour or so 150K shares bought/sold (of price >$20 too) is barely changing price by 1c (sometimes not even that) Tallwonder Jun 23, 11:05
