Chopper is an Australian film loosely based on the life of criminal Mark "Chopper" Reed, played by comic Eric Bana. The movie provides a glimpse into Reed's life with a chilling and often disturbing humor. Written and directed by Andrew Dominik, Chopper also stars Vince Colosimo, Simon Lyndon, and Kate Beahan.
The film is set in two different time periods, the first part in 1978 with the second happening several years later. The screenplay is based on a series of books written by Reed, the last of which was published in May 2000. Chopper comes from the Australian Palace Films and is produced by Michele Bennett.
