Chuck and Buck is an exploration of innocence that constricts and enriches, of innocence lost and regained, through the medium of a childhood friendship between Chuck and Buck.
Buck is essentially a 27-year-old child with childlike aimlessness, irresponsibility -- and innocence. This infantile world is shattered when his mother, with whom he was still living, passes away. His childhood friend Chuck returns for the funeral. Chuck is Buck's polar opposite. He is resolutely adult in all his pursuits and ambitions. He is on a fast career track in the music industry in Los Angeles and is engaged to be married.
The childlike Buck follows the adult Chuck back to Los Angeles and both friends are forced to confront where their different emotional paths have taken them.
