Disney presents a new adaptation of the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas about a wrongly imprisoned sailor who escapes and finds a treasure on the island of Monte Cristo while vowing revenge on his enemies. Jim Caviezel (The Thin Red Line) and Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential) play the lead roles. The script was adapted for the screen by Jay Wolpert with Kevin Reynolds directing.
Options are short term investment opportunities based around a specific event. Typically options are released opening weekend of a particular MovieStock. This form of speculation takes the form of 'calls' and 'puts' and last only for opening weekend.
Call
A call option is the opposite of a put option. A call speculates that the related MovieStock will have a higher box office take for its opening weekend than the strike price. A $20 call has a strike price of $20, and will delist at zero if the movie does not make $20 million or more during opening weekend. If the film makes more than $20 million it will cash out at a price determined by the following formula: (Actual Box Office - Strike Price). For Example if the film made $25 million the call would cash out at H$5.00 (H$25 - H$20).
