The Devil's Knot is based on the true story of the West Memphis Three. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. were unjustly convicted of killing three young boys and imprisoned for 18 years before being freed. Reese Witherspoon will play the mother of one of the victims. Atom Egoyan will direct from a script Scott Derrickson and Paul Boardman adapted from the non-fiction book by Mara Leveritt.
