Description

The life and times of philosopher and novelist Iris Murdoch is the subject of the drama Iris.Based on her husband John Bayley's memoirs, the film traces the relationship between Murdoch and Bayley, from their meeting and courtship at Oxford through their long marriage to finally Murdoch's heart-rending struggles with Alzheimer's.

Kate Winslet protrays young Iris while Judi Dench plays the senior Iris. Richard Eyre directs the Scott Rudin Productions distributed by Miramax.
