Liam is a story of a young boy living in Liverpool trying to understand his Catholic identity. His family is undergoing a greater struggle as they try to practice their religion under religious tensions, employment layoffs and poverty. Liam is directed by Stephen Frears who also worked on High Fidelity. Written by Jimmy McGovern, the story chronicles the religious life of Britain. The character of Liam is played by Anthony Borrows with co-stars Ian Hart and Claire Hackett.
