Following a recent string of Jane Austen adaptations, Mansfield Park comes as another offering from Miramax, which brought Emma to theaters in 1996.
Like most of the films based upon Jane Austen's fiction, including 1995's high school comedy Clueless, Mansfield Park takes a slightly satirical look at society, human relations, and how the two affect one another. The film is adapted and directed by Patricia Rozema, writer-director of 1995's When Night Is Falling.
Mansfield Park stars Hugh Bonneville, Embeth Davidtz, Jonny Lee Miller and Alessandro Nivola, with an additional appearance from playwright Harold Pinter.
