Description

Writer/Director Paul Verhoeven started his career in the Royal Netherlands Navy making documentaries. He received international success for the Dutch films Soldier of Orange and The Fourth Man. After 1995's Flesh + Blood, Verhoeven achieved box office success with Robocop (1987) and Total Recall (1990). Known for his use of violence and graphic sexual situations, Verhoeven shined with his 1992's Basic Instinct, but bombed with 1995's Showgirls. However, he rebounded in 1997 with the sci-fi war flick Starship Troopers.
