The screen version of the Tony award winning musical Rent has been revived with Chris Columbus attached as director. Opened in 1996, the play is the 10th longest running show in Broadway history. Based on the Puccini Opera La Boheme, the musical tells the stories of the tenants living in a New York City Loft, among them are drug addicts, AIDS patients and broke musicians. Steve Chbosky pens the script.
