The biographical drama Skinstars Sophia Okonedo as the real life Sandra Laing who was born to white Afrikaner parents in 1950s South Africa. Because of her dark skin tone, she wasn't accepted by the white society of Apartheid era. Laing ran away from her parents and didn't return until her mother was in her senior years. Sam Neill and Alice Krige play her parents. Anthony Fabian directed the film and co-wrote with Helen Crowley.
