The animated documentary Waltz and Bashir details an Israeli army veteran's experiences during the 1982 war with Lebanon. While conversing with an old buddy, the veteran realizes he hasn’t retained any memory from the war. When he goes to contact all of his old friends, surreal images and their reality become apparent to him. He realizes he must come to terms with the events. Ari Folman produced, wrote and directed the film based on his own life.
