A romantic fable set in the world of exotic cuisine, Woman on Top stars Penelope Cruz as a Brazilian culinary genius who suffers from extreme motion sickness which requires her to be in control of all her movements. However, the condition wrecks her love life and she leaves Brazil for San Francisco to pursue her dream of becoming a famous TV chef. The film also stars Mark Feuerstein, Harold Perrineau, and Brazilian actor Murilo Benecio. Woman on Top is helmed by Fina Torres, director of 1993's Celestial Clockwork.
