Two of Hollywood's biggest stars couldn't compete against the animated animals of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted [MADG3], which held on to the top spot with an estimated $35.0 million. The sequel declined 41% in its second weekensd, bringing its tally to $120.5 million.
Prometheus [PROME] remained in second place with $20.2 million. The sci-fi prequel to Alien lost 60% from its opening weekend.
Rock of Ages [ROAGE] starring Tom Cruise debuted in third place at $15.1 million. The '80s rock musical attracted an audience that was 62% female and 75% over the age of 25.
In its third week of release, Snow White & the Huntsman [SWHTM] finished fourth with $13.8 million. The action fairy talehas banked $122.6 million.
That's My Boy [TMBOY] opened fifth overall at $13.0 million. Adam Sandler's R-rated comedy drew an audience that was 54% male and 52% under the age of 25.
