Dominating the box office with the fourth biggest second weekend of all times, Beauty and the Beast [BTATB] scored an estimated $88.3 million. The musical remake declined 49% from its debut to advance its totatl to nearly $317.0 million.
Power Rangers [MMPR] debuted in second place with $40.5 million. The sci-fi reboot connected with an audience that was 60% male and evenly split between the over/under age of 25.
Kong: Skull Island [SKULN] finished third with $14.4 million to bring its total to $133.5 million.
Life [LIFEM] found $12.5 million to open in fourth place. The sci-fi thriller attracted a crowd that was 55% male and 57% over the age of 25.
Logan [WOLV3] took fifth with $10.1 million and $201.5 million overall.
CHiPs [CHIPS] managed just $7.6 million to debut at the seventh spot. The raunchy comedy appealed to 53% male and 68% over the age of 25.
