Kicking off a month of new horror releases, The Nun II [TNUN2] topped the weekend box office with an estimated $32.6 million. The sequel fell well short of The Nun’s $53.8 million debut five years ago. The 52% female audience graded the film C+ on CinemaScore.
Last weekend’s winner The Equalizer 3 [EQLZ3] tumbled 65% in its second session to $12.1 million, advancing its total to $61.87 million after 10 days.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 [MBFG3] collected $10.0 million to open in third place. The romantic comedy sequel skewed 72% female and 83% over the age of 25. The film received a B CinemaScore.
Jawan [JAWAN] debuted at the fourth spot with $6.19 million and $7.56 million since opening on Thursday.
Blue Beetle [BLUBT] earned $3.78 million to bring its total to $63.7 million after 4 weekends.
Gran Turismo [GTURS] scored $3.38 million in its third outing for a sum of $35.69 million.
Expanding to 1265 theaters in its second weekend of wide release, Bottoms [BOTOM] declined 33% to $2.05 million and $7.62 million overall.
Strays [STRAY] took in $810K to bring its total to $22.85 million after 4 weekends.
