CBS Films has dropped a redband trailer for the slasher horror Hell Fest [HELFS]. In a Halloween horror themed park filled with costumed actors and patrons, a real serial killer stalks a group of friends through a labyrinth of rides and mazes. Hell Fest opens on September 28th.
Fox has unleashed the official trailer for the actioner Bad Times at the El Royale [BTAER]. Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny and Lewis Pullman star as seven strangers who meet up at El Royale, a rundown hotel on the California and Nevada border in Lake Tahoe. As everyone's dark secret is revealed, everything ends in an inevitable shootout. Bad Times at the El Royale hits theaters on October 12th.
Aviron has released the official trailer for the biographical drama A Private War [APWAR]. Rosamund Pike [RPIKE] stars as war correspondent Marie Colvin, who covered the most dangerous conflicts of the Middle East for three decades before being killed on assignment in Syria in 2012. A Private War opens limited on November 2nd before expanding nationwide November 16th.
Warner Bros. has another crazy rich weekend as the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians [CRASN] held a crazy rich 94% of its opening to stay atop the box office with an estimated $25.0 million. The second weekend drop is the smallest for a live-action film on a non-holiday over 3000 theaters. The audience broadens demographically as the percentage of Asian-Americans decreased from 38% to 27%.
The Meg [MEG] remained in second place at $13.0 million, bringing its total to $105.3 million.
Fox Searchlight has revealed the second trailer for the drama The Old Man and the Gun [OMATG]. In his last acting role, Robert Redford [RREDF] plays the real-life Forrest Tucker who escaped from San Quentin at the age of 70 and went off to pull off a string of heists. Casey Affleck [CAFFL] plays a detective on his trails. Written and directed by David Lowery [DLOWE], The Old Man and the Gun lands in theaters September 28th.

A24 has released the official trailer for the horror comedy Slice [SLICE] starring Chance the Rapper and Zazie Beetz [ZBEET]. A pizza delivery boy has been murdered and the number one suspect is the Chinese food delivery guy on a scooter, who may or may not be a werewolf. Slice arrives in theaters this fall.
Universal has cut a third trailer for the comedy Night School [NTSCH] starring Kevin Hart [KHART] in his usual hyperactive role. Tiffany Haddish [THADD] co-stars as an adult school teacher for a group of slow-learners looking to pass the GED. Night School begins on September 28th.
Demonstarting the box office power of representation, Crazy Rich Asians [CRASN] led the weekend with an estimated $25.2 million, and $34.0 million during its first five days. The romantic comedy skewed 68% female and 66% over the age of 25. Asians made up 38% of the audience.
The Meg [MEG] was knocked off to second with $21.2 million, down 53% from its debut. The shark film has chewed up $83.8 million.
