Lionsgate has unleashed the full-length trailer for the horror sequel The Strangers - Chapter 2 [STRN4].  Madelaine Petsch [MPETS] reprises her role as the survivor of the first film.  Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath co-star in the sequel, which underwent reshoots after the ending leaked. Directed by Renny Harlin [RHARL], The Strangers - Chapter 2 arrives in theaters on September 26th.

Neon has released the official redband trailer for the comedy Splitsville [SPTSV]. Dakota Johnson [DJOHN], Adria Arjona [AARJO], Kyle Marvin and Michael Angelo Covino star in the film about a couple who decides to try an open marriage into order to save their relationship.  Splitsville opens in select theaters on August 22nd before expanding everywhere on September 5th.

While two new titles faltered at the weekend box office, How to Train Your Dragon [HTTYD] retained the box office crown with an estimated $37.0 million.  The live-action remake dropped 56% from its debut to advance its total to $160.49 million.

Coming 18 years after the previous chapter, 28 Years Later [28LT3] opened in second place with $30.0 million. The horror sequel skewed 75% over the age of 25, and received a B CinemaScore.
