Lionsgate has released the first trailer for their 3D CG animated film Alpha and Omega [ALPOM]. Justin Long [JLONG] and Hayden Panettiere [HPANE] voice the two lead wolves from opposite sides of the social hierarchy who are trapped together to repopulate a different party of the country. The reluctant couple must work together and find their way home to their pack, while falling in love along the way.
In all likelihood living up to its billing as 'The Final Chapter', Shrek Forever After [SHRK4] debuted with an estimated $71.25 million. Even with 3D accounting for 61% of the revenue, Shrek Forever After grossed 42% less than the $121.6 million debut of Shrek the Third in 2007.

Fox has given us the first look at the next animated film Rio [RIO] from Blue Sky Studio by unveiling the first trailer at Moviefone. The teaser comprises of an entire scene similar to how the first Ice Age teaser was also entire scene featuring Scrat.
DreamWorks Animation has uploaded a full trailer for Megamind [MEGAM] which introduces the rest of the characters that populate the 3D film. The titled villain, as well as the hero Metroman, are both established as from another planet similar to Krypton. Though it doesn't explain why Metroman has Superman-like superpowers while Megamind has to resort to mechanical plot devices. This weekend three new releases opened at the box office bringing adventure, romance and drama for everyone. However, Iron Man 2 [IRNM2] continued its reign at first place raking in another $53 million to make its two week total $212 million.
Coming in second was the Russell Crowe [RCROW] historical adventure Robin Hood [RBNHD]. The film which also starred Cate Blanchett [CBLAN] as Maid Marion had an opening weekend take of $37 million. Robin Hood showed in 5,900 screens.

Although the sequel scored well with moviegoers, most didn’t think it was better than the first Iron Man.
