No :-)
But yeah I have more questions (and btw, thanks for all the answers thus far)
"Percentage wise, I believe I noted that 100% - 110%+ used to be nice jump off points for some traders." 100%?? Are there stocks that jump that much in one day?
What I'm really curious about are stocks about to open and the period after they adjust. I've noticed how much they bounce around during those two times.
Up until now I've been taking a position on Friday openers on the Sunday or Monday beforehand, when notfabio posts the most recent MTC numbers, and all the cash freed up after adjust on Sunday gets pumped right into this next set of openers. Usually what happens, though, is over the course of the week they go up and down up and down of course, and what I've been doing is ignoring the movement, sticking with my decisions, and waiting for the opening weekend.
But then I thought why not take advantage of all that movement beforehand, so last week I flipped the openers a few times and made some nice cash riding the waves before Friday's halt. But I have the nagging suspicion I'm not making nearly as much as I could, because I flip too soon or too late sometimes, cutting into potential profit.
That's why I was asking about percentage gains and all that, because I could have sworn it was you who said something like after playing a long time you noticed that a certain percentage gain usually meant the price had hit the wall for the day and soon the stock would reverse.
I've heard here and there people say keep moving your money around, moving it into stocks that are volatile. Like you mentioned, the news stocks are a good place for that, but ther are only so many news items in one day. There have to be other opportunities as well, right?
