Have you seen all the nominees? It seems clear that Artist and Hugo are the best of the bunch as well as having that little "extra"..

That "extra" being they are both movies paying tributes to the history of film. 

Descendants is an excellent, heartfelt film, I'm planning on watching it again before the awards. The Help is a solid film but not in the same category as The Descendants. However, it has the "extra" factor of being about race relations, which is why I think it is more highly gambled on than the Descendants.
