I think that's pretty good advice.
Anyway, if you want the cash to play something for a few days with higher % gains (you hope), you can always put the money back into your long term position on the other stocks after those few days. If it's a slow mover, the lost opportunity of something like an opener is greater than the lost opportunity of a 'slow bleeder'.
