What will fail is the buy option if you don't have more than sufficient money for 100K shares at the new price. There must be a way that the rest of the HSX community deals with this KNOWN phenomena. Might I suggest that instead of buying max when you don't have enough money for 100K shares, that you make a basic calculation as to what you can afford and purchase a few thousand shares less? Then you have the bulk at price #1 and can purchase again with the remainder of your money. Then if it fails, you haven't lost so much.

It happens to all of us. So instead of being frustrated, try to understand the system and work with it...unless you think that complaining will change the HSX programming (which has worked for whom in the past?) We understand your point though. I hope this method helps ease your fake money woes.

In HSX, MAX means shares available not affordable. So you need to know how much you can afford if you want the trade to go thru the 1st time {nm} JDolphin Mar 09, 22:33

Not right, "Buy Max" does mean "buy the maximum you can afford at this moment before orders are executed" (further inside) DTravel Mar 10, 10:42

But if you are short on cash and you want the trade to go thru, you're better off not using Max, but calculating a lesser amount {nm} JDolphin Mar 10, 13:47
