Blueduck did not sell his $136mill port for $1,050 in 1999
blueduck did offer his port for sale on ebay and did get a $1,050 bid, but the buyer never completed the transaction; blueduck never got the money; but blueduck gets the fame because the auction price was reported on many websites that are still accessable (but the follow up story was never publicized).
7 months later another top porfolio was auctioned on Ebay, and HSX paid $540 (which was the first port ever sold, and it also started HSX's buy back program). HSX would buy back portfolios for a year and ended the program in November 2000.
