We're accurate because of the timing of the halts
For the first few years of HSX's existence (probably 10 years), stocks were halted on Friday mornings, so we generally didn't have much BO info for the weekend. Now, we all have access to Friday numbers, so by Saturday night, we have a pretty good sense of what the weekend numbers are going to be. And we have Nikki's commentary on Friday/Saturday.
What might be more interesting to study is where derivatives halt on the day of release, or how a stock moves on the day of release. Or what happens post-adjust. For example, does a stock drop or rise on Sunday post-adjust? How well does that predict what the delist will be? RogerMore has some good charts on how Friday numbers predict the weekend total, and how the weekend total predicts delist.
