I do see on this one that the predecessor underperformed which does suppress expectations on this one, however on another+++
somewhat recent example...
Stock IPO'd recently also and approx 1 week after IPO, stock dropped over $13 over the course of 2 days. No "news" per se except that lead actor of this stock is also the lead of a recently released blockbuster which is living up to expectations both globally & internationally. Again, seemingly minor percentage of volume traded yet price drops of $5 and $8 on consecutive days. This stock's immediate predecessor was released 18 months ago.
You mention Brakes...is there a mechanism in place that limits the momentum swings? I had noticed on some recent IPO's (unrelated to the two I have specifically referenced) that the day after price movements were much lower than I expected. How long are the Brakes applied?
Thanks for any explanations. I've been here on and off for a number of years but a lot of times it's been more off than on so I still have much to learn.
