You basically have two types of stocks you mentioned. Small, released movies that will not do much in BO, so, they won't get the bump you're looking for, almost guaranteed.
The other type is a movie in development that, yes, could get a bump, or a huge increase in price. However, until that happens, they typically go down. I am short all of these you mentioned. Until there is solid news and they move from development to production, etc. they will continue to decline.
PVL is right, you have to play the players, not what you think the movie will do in ultimate BO, until it is actually close to earning some BO.
