Penny (0.01) stocks costing $3000? Problem?

I've made a series of penny stock purchases today, all cleared at 0.01, so it should have been charged at $1,000 plus commission, but they have all cleared at $3,000. Did I miss an announcement? I haven't played penny stocks in a while. Thanks!
