1) Sure, real-time extrapolation involves an element of intuitive "speculation" & my Nov 27, 15:53 post said exactly that. The Sat/Sun MJ2 daily totals, however, tell a story & with 300m+ active users w/wide, Twitter can provide some BO insights IMHO. In a new study by Twitter and Nielsen, 87 percent of Twitter users over 13 said tweets influenced their movie choices. It also showed that 62 percent of moviegoers used the Internet or mobile apps to learn about films."
2) $685m max due mainly to dollar appreciation & lower domestic. MJ1 = $755m w/wide. MJ2 10-day w/wide $442m is $38m behind MJ1 w/wide at same point, but run also includes handful of played-out territories (e.g China, Japan) that coincidentally grossed another $38m later during MJ1's run -- so deficit already around $75m. As concluding chapter, possible MJ2 could hold better w/wide than MJ1 going forward, however -57% 2nd wkend int'l drop doesn't suggest offshore legs at this point.
