moderate release
We usually do not know exact theater counts until we get closer to the release date but we mostly know if it will be wide or limited. Sometimes the movies announce in advance what size of release that they are targeting. HSX labels a release as moderate when the announced release sounds like it was announced to be wide release ("in theaters everywhere Feb XX") but might not get enough theaters to be HSX wide and trigger an opening weekend adjust. Generally a moderate release would be anywhere from like 200 to 500 theaters at best guess and is expected to report box office but might not trigger an opening weekend adjust.
Limited = smaller
Moderate = medium
Wide = large to x large
