SHORT Virtually all Movie Stocks?

Posted by: johnnyb588 on Mar 30, 16:07 in response to RotoHockey2013Main Port's post ANSWER <INSIDE>.

Am I understanding this correctly?  This goes against virtually everything I have done for the past decade (which, again, is just casual play).  I have about 50 movies in my port right now, all held long (except BvS).  Virtually all of them have made me a ton of money with huge percentage gains, so it seems like those are probably the types of movies that you would also hold long.  But how do I determine what movies are good candidates to short?  I get why shorting all concepts is a good idea, but how do you choose to short any other movie stocks?

Also, what is reset trading?

I understand and am starting to implement most of your other strategies as I have been playing more over the past month, but this shorting strategy and reset trading are new to me.  Any further help you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the great tips, everyone!

How do the top players do it? johnnyb588 Mar 29, 16:44

I can't speak for how players like Oleg do it but I posted some tips that worked for me. Link inside DTravel Mar 29, 18:52

I don't know if being 98.8 percentile is a top player, but for what it's worth JustaGuy Mar 29, 20:50

Nice. I may look into this. It seems like a strat that you can use even just a couple days a week and set and forget. {nm} Willroast Mar 29, 23:50

It needs a bit of management, as sometimes a bleeder can become a winner on some breaking news, but overall it works 75% of the time {nm} JustaGuy Mar 30, 06:25

Also, I shouldn't have answered this because I am NOT a top player. But I thought any advice might be helpful. {nm} Willroast Mar 29, 19:41

You are a top player MattW. No one should doubt that. :) {nm} DiNar0 Mar 29, 20:19

haha....sorry. mistaken identity. You guys know who I meant, right? DiNar0 Mar 30, 10:45

Thanks Dinaro! I don't actually consider myself top level, but I have been trying! Competing with all you superstars keeps me humble. {nm} Willroast Mar 30, 12:01
