I have examined the data. I looked at all MST that are under $30 today and existed on November 1st, 935 MST in total. I looked at the daily price change for each day from Nov 1st to today.
A minimum of 333 (35.6%) went UP in price each day. 1 day 480 (51.3%) of them went up in price. The average was 387 (41.4%) going up in price every day.
Now let's look at total change in price if you shorted all 935 of these MSTs since Nov 1st.
5 days had a net increase, 21 days had a net decrease. Total over the 26 days is a net decrease of 161.5. Average is net decrease of 6.21 a day.
Your suggestion that only 2%-2.5% MSTs in this range (or any range) go up in price on a given day is completely wrong. Please stop quoting gut feelings as fact. While the daily trend may be down, it's small compared to the investment.
