No, I'm not asking for anyone to donate a dime. I've been with this community for 17 years and active on the boards for the majority of
of that time.
On May 1st, I saw Antibody's post and decided I would try to find a way to keep this place going. I have been speaking with Cantor (you can verify that directly with them).
I recently ran a survey that has been posted on the Movie Board... it has had 200 members respond (that I paid Survey Monkey $100 out of my own pocket for) with valuable data from those members that was built to see from a broad sense of how we can help to keep this alive.
Dozens of members have been emailing me asking on how they can help, as many regulars want to keep the website active.
I am working with a couple other long time members and looking for a way to get Antibody back (you can email him and verify), as well as talking with the person who was responsible for the technical updates to the site.
I have spent money for the last decade funding the Summer/Winter Contests, on my own dime, for nothing more than the mere enjoyment of keeping the community active and engaged. You can verify that with all the winners of said contests and with the people that run them.
Nobody is scamming anyone here. I have friends on these boards, they know my name, where I live and my intentions. I'll be happy to share those details at any point.
Right now, we're looking for our most valuable resources (as a community), because if someone doesn't at least try to get us organized, and soon, not even you will be able to come troll the boards here... as this site will be gone.
So, cackle as you must, but nobody is asking for anything (I don't need your money), just trying to identify who can help us to keep this alive and if that's even a remote possibility. Please feel free to move along.
