the page does not update the film's gross unless and until one (or more) of it's bonds goes through a new TAG calculation. Even then, the updated figure does not appear on the prior film page until the new TAG is applied to the bond(s).
As for "extended run", remember that the stock always delists after four weekends for a wide releasr and 12 weekends for a limited release. Many movies continue in theaters beyond those cut-off dates - some more productively than others.
Unless the specific film is several years old and you are certain that all of the related bonds have updated, it's a good idea to check the latest gross at a site like boxofficemojo.com.

Good question. It used to be weekly updates, but has become less frequent of late and somewhat irregular. Updates are almost always on project Jun 22, 17:36

Grosses on moviestock pages are OFTEN (even USUALLY) left not updated. There have been several instances project Jun 24, 20:17
