If you buy at $75 and sell at $100 before it locks in, you've made a $25 profit and no longer own the stock/risk.   

If that movie does better in theatres than expected and goes out to get $125 million opening weekend, it'll cash out at $125, but you've already sold it for $100 and keep your $100.  If That movie bombs at the box office and only does $85 Million it cashes out at $85, you already sold it at $100 and keep your $100.
