looking for some "Day trading" tips and tricks....

I am going to have some time to be on during the day now and want to start day trading. I know the basic theory is to catch things on a up/down tick and hold for short term; minutes, hours, maybe the day. 

 

I am wondering any tips or tricks that help to day trade. What is the best sort to use on your portfolio? do you use limits or just eyeball things? 

 

any other tips, tricks or advice?
