there had to be a new spiderman film, too much money to be had not to. problems is
what way do you go?
do you keep tobey maguire? no, too old and spiderman 3 was awful
do you replace tobey ala the batman films (keaton to kilmer etc)? no, odds are you wind up with batman and robin.
do you bring in a new director and make him continue on the existing continuity? no, remember the way people hated xmen3 when ratner came in for singer?
so you do what sony did. get hot young actor, and actress, and director and hope they nail it.
