I think Emma is a product of good scripts AND good acting. She really has a lot going for her...
She is a rare actress that is funny and not afraid to look goofy and is also showing she has range showing she has range (Paper Man and The Help are clear examples).
She doesn't have your typical Hollywood good looks, her look is more "girl next door" good looks that a lot of guys really like and women generally find unthreatening.
She is so darn likable that people love working with her. You have types like Katherine Heigle that burn bright for a short time but nobody ever wants to work with her again, Emma is the exact opposite, everyone seems to want to work with her again. Will Gluck got her a cameo in Friends with benefits and they are working on a script together. Ryan Gosling was so impressed with her he campaigned to get her cast in Gangster Squad and Ruben Fleischer (Emma's director in Zombieland) said he'd love to have her and she was cast in a gem role without having to audition, despite such big names as Ashley Greene, Teresa Palmer, Camilla Belle, Aly Michalka, Lily Collins, Emmy Rossum, Amanda Seyfried and Maggie Grace having already auditioned.
There's the rare praise from Bill Murray, Woody Harrelson taking her to Paul McCartney's for dinner the Paul designing her and her mother's matching tattoo, best friends with Taylor Swift since they met years ago.
She just seems like she has everything going for her without any of the faults that trip up other rising young actresses.
