So Who Saw What Last Week? (me - Boot Camp: C-, Public Enemies: C)

Boot Camp: I didn't know anything about this other than it had Mila Kunis in it, so I tried it. It's like Dr. Phil meets Lord of the Flies, as troubled teen Mila is sent to a tough love camp in Borneo where Peter Stormare (so you know his character is going to be weird) is using a mix of psychobable and violence to straighten the kids out. Kinda slow moving, supposedly based on a true story, but I doubt the real people involved were this dopey. (Some not-really-much-but-kinda-worth-it-semi-nekkid shots of Mila if you're interested.)

Public Enemies: This one just seemed to be lacking something. Depp is fine, but has been better. Bale comes across with zero charisma or interest. When Dillinger and his crew were going around the country to rob banks, it felt more like they were going from set to set; I could never get a feel for any grand scope. The sound seemed bad; dialogue was inaudible at points, (tho it could have been the theater.) Weird trivia: Saw this Sat. night at a discount theater in Mishawaka, Indiana for $2. The last time I had been to this theater was 1995(?) for another Mann film, Heat.
