I think there is another more charitable interpretation.
That is, that whoever did this did not grasp that entering a zero for the adjust of ARTST (reflecting the fact that MCA took no position on the film) would mean. If you think about it, anyone who wished to really track the accuracy of MCA guesses in this way would be undercutting their own efforts by deliberately entering a zero with the intent of making MCA's guesses look bad.
In any case, it was wrong of whoever entered the MCA guesses to do so without making it clear that it was not MCA itself entering them.
