Did research.... the Singularity in question seems to be SNGLR ~ explanation inside
Singularity is losing its 11/1/13 release date and White House Down is taking it. These are both Roland Emmerich's movies. Doubtful that he would have two wide movies opening on the same weekend.
Sony pulled the plug on Emmerich's Singularity last November after the poor performance of Annonymous. (link)
So it looks like Sony killed Singularity but is replacing it with White House Down
