Your point is true, but past stock performance has shown that IF massive numbers of shares of a stock are moved while the price is frozen,
as occurs on OW halt/adjusts or IPOs with large floats, then brakes will be applied hard and for a long time after the price is unfrozen. So, yes, shares moved before a stock is unfrozen will not "count" in moving the price once it is unfrozen; however, those shares, or more specifically, the total volume of shares, CAN affect the degree to which movement occurs at unfreezing.
This phenomena also occurs with reset trading. You'll notice that over 50 million shares of BATM3 were moved yesterday, and that from reset until around 6:30 AM PST, more than 7 million shares were moved in a negative manner, but the price only budged about 2.50. The brakes were applied that strongly and for that long because of all the activity on Friday. If the brakes hadn't been on, one trade of 100k would've/should've moved the price at least 50 cents on its own, with the price range BATM3 is in. so 70+ trades of 100 should've dropped it much more than just 2.50.
