I'll watch the trailer in theatres, but in light of what you said above, I'll not seek it out. There are aspects of this adaptation I can't imagine, and so if the filmmakers have found a way of making something viable from the book, then I'd like to wait to see it.
I think "Ghostwritten" and "The Thousand Autumns..." would be easier adaptations.
