Maybe some of our insiders could shed some light, but my take on these is that they were unable to find enough theaters willing to commit to

a minimum 2-week engagement, so they are going to try opening in just a few to show there is demand for it.

In this case, I doubt there will be much demand since it seems to be an over-done plot with unproven actors. It could be saved by great reviews, but that seems a distant possibility.

once again, the distributor definition of wide is not the HSX definition of wide. Wide for distributors is typically 10 theaters or more {nm} Moviesnob Feb 01, 11:20

3/29 is likely an expansion from NY/LA. Its very unusual to go from 2 markets to HSX wide, I think we should wait for theater counts before Moviesnob Feb 01, 11:23
