yeah and many ppl still think first to watch = midnight, so they pass on staying up late and settle for friday
ive seen movies all year and when i tell them im going to/went to the thursday show, they reply "yeah i used to do that, but midnight is too late so i just see movies on friday/weekend."
people think thursday is midnight so they dont check online until friday, americans are procrastinators.
and yes, plenty of theatergoers still show up at 10-11p and walk up to the box office because they figure they that the theater is showing the movie on a couple screens at once and seats are available.
i bought my reserved seat tickets in october for a show in orange county, CA and checked weekly to see the progress of my screening fill up. there were still plenty of good seats on wednesday. thursday noon it finally filled up.
