It's bad when heavy marketing yells at me that a new "Transformers" movie is coming every 2-3 yrs, and there's no chance I'll enjoy it.

I hate dumb movies. Movies that are made with a smart premise, with genuine intellectual potential, something innovative and daring--that's not nor never will be Michael Bay.

So it's hard to see things I wish I could enjoy, but know that it will either upset me or make me want to take affirmative action and boycott and start a huge internet campaign to try to get everyone to do the same, if only just for the chance that Paramount would open their eyes and see that they could spend a lot less money and get a much larger return if they got someone more talented.

Imagine if "Transformers: Age of Extinction" were by someone new, written by someone new, with the Dinobots arriving and well-written character arcs for Mark Wahlberg, Jai Courtney and Emilia Clarke (you know that "Terminator: Genesis" is going to rock with that new cast...Michael Bay brought us Shia and Megan)--face it, that could've opened to the higher end of those projections, ~$115M. Yes, good WOM and solid reviews may have boosted this opening weekend. It did for "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Maybe they don't understand that sci-fi, fanboys...they kind of travel in the same circles. It's no mistake "X-Men: DOFP" will be the highest grossing "X-Men" film ever. Shame "Transformers: Age of Extinction" will most likely be the lowest grossing "Transformers" film, domestically, yet.

Prevent it by getting new talent. The Bay is washed-up.
