Just to be clear, I don't think Fleming wrote Bond as anything other than a white man. But I don't see his whiteness as an essential part of
his character, the way his masculinity is. Bond represents England, not English white people or white people generally, and as England is a multicultural society, I don't see casting a non-white actor (provided it's the right actor) as being untrue to the source material. Â But frankly, I really doubt it will happen - see those other leaked Sony emails about Denzel Washington and The Equalizer and international audiences.
Also, Bond has worn jeans as far back as Dr. No - the book. I don't know if they were skinny jeans though.
