This could be to setup the possibility of split screen showtimes on October 9th if THE WALK fizzles (but ....)
As mentioned in the past, IMAX is extremely loyal to Zemeckis, so THE WALK would have to bomb pretty hard for them to entertain that. Right now THE MARTIAN is not confirmed for a domestic IMAX 3D release of any kind, but IMAX is much more flexible lately because of the growth of rival PLF's...
