In my honest opinion--I see dissent among the fanboy ranks towards BvS, but nothing nearly so dire as Superman Returns's word of mouth.
That movie was eaten alive by the core audience it was supposed to be going after--the teens.
This film succeeds with the teenage demographic...but sacrifices the older, far more critical fanboys who were raised on bad CBMs and expect better (who are probably the only few people today who would appreciate what Bryan Singer was trying to do with Superman Returns).
I found Batman v Superman far more shallow and convoluted than it should've been, and piggybacks too much off of having massive American icons just show up in front of a green screen and dance.
