personally, I think 3D will be only used for the tentpoles and major int'l releases

after the fad settles in (as it has many times before) studios will realize it won't work for smaller pics, and, I assume, the 3D process is pretty expensive. unless all 3D movies are huge successes, then it may be used too much and they will realize later that it doesn't work so well for smaller budget pics.

some game changers that will probably make it stick this time: non piratable, higher revenues, etc.

just some thoughts.
